Upgrade Your Sensitivity – Not Your Analytical System

ThermELUTE Light: More Sensitivity Without Expensive Analytical Upgrades

Mycotoxin analysis often requires high sensitivity, efficient sample preparation and reliable results across a wide variety of matrices. Increasing analytical performance, however, does not necessarily require a major investment in a new HPLC-FLD or LC-MS/MS system.

In combination with LCTech SMART immunoaffinity columns, ThermELUTE Light uses water-based thermal elution to produce highly purified and concentrated, ready-to-inject samples. The workflow is designed for fast implementation and efficient routine use.

Gain Sensitivity Through Higher Injection Volumes

Conventional elution with organic solvents can limit the volume that is introduced into the analytical system. With ThermELUTE Light, the analytes are eluted in an aqueous solution.
This allows higher injection volumes and can achieve a three- to fourfold increase in measurement sensitivity, depending on the application and analytical conditions. Laboratories can therefore improve detection capabilities without making a high-cost investment in new analytical instrumentation.

Comparison of chromatographic signals obtained increase of injection volume, without compromising chromatographic resolution, peak broadening or retention time shift by water-based thermal elution. The higher injection volume can significantly increase analytical sensitivity.

Eight Samples – Ready to Inject
ThermELUTE Light processes up to eight SMART columns in parallel. Following the thermal elution step, the samples are ready for direct injection into the analytical system.
    The workflow offers:
    •    Parallel processing of eight samples
    •    Fast and practical system setup
    •    Water-based thermal elution
    •    Reduced use of organic solvents
    •    Ready-to-inject samples
    •    Compatibility with HPLC-FLD and LC-MS/MS

The compact offline solution can be integrated into existing laboratory workflows without changing the analytical platform.
Designed for Valuable and Challenging Matrices
SMART columns are suitable for mycotoxin cleanup in a broad range of food, feed and pharmaceutical matrices. These include cereals, nuts, coffee, dried fruit, spices, herbs and pharmaceutical plant materials such as cannabis.
This becomes particularly valuable when working with expensive sample materials such as saffron or cannabis. Reduced sample and solvent volumes help laboratories use valuable material efficiently while maintaining reliable cleanup and high analytical sensitivity. This saves costs (solvent and time saving procedure) with highest reliability in sample analysis - due to gain of sensitivity by adapting injection volume LOD and LOQ could be lowered resulting in better and more precise analysis of aflatoxins or ochratoxin A.
