FREESTYLE EVAporation
FLEXIBLE, PRECISE, MODULAR
FREESTYLE EVAporation
There are two different EVAporation techniques, which can be applied individually or combined. These are only selected in the software – no changes need to be made to the hardware!
- Parametrisable vacuum via chemically inert vacuum pump including controlled heating and rotation of the EVAporation chamber
- Nitrogen blowdown (for sensitive analytes and final volumes < 0.5 mL)

PURE EXPERIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Precise Final Volume
Samples can be concentrated precisely to a final volume between 0.2 mL and 5.0 mL fully automatically. The process is controlled using software and sensors. Methods with different final volumes can be easily mixed in one sequence, without any mechanical adjustment. Particularly valuable for certified laboratories: The EVAporation chamber can be calibrated fully automatically.
EVAPORATION CHAMBER IN DETAIL
Fully Automated Process
Double-walled needle with two independent lines. For the outer line, spray holes are arranged 360° around the needle. Ideal for thorough all-round cleaning of a vessel.
- Spraying solvent into a vial or into the vacuum chamber for rinsing and cleaning.
- Avoidance of overpressure when dispensing into a septum-sealed vial, by releasing the displaced air via second needle channel.
- Sharp tip for piercing a septum. The design reliably prevents the needle from being blocked by part of the septum.
Chemically inert vacuum pump with intelligent control.
Conically shaped EVAporation chamber for fast, low-loss and targeted evaporation:
- Double-walled, filled with temperature-controlled liquid.
- Condenser for solvent recovery.
Overfill sensors for safe monitoring of the EVAporation process.
Additional parameterisable, electric heating zone for optimum EVAporation in the small volume range.
Fluid level sensor for the final volume, which you can set individually for each sample via software 0.2 mL to 5 mL.
Quantitative Transfer of the Sample
No Analyte Loss
Flexibility in all Areas
Selection of the evaporation principle
- Similar to the rotary evaporator principle with controlled heating of the sample via a closed water cycle and application of a parametrisable vacuum
- Nitrogen blowdown
- Combination of both principles in one method
Selection of the solvent
- Liquid/liquid solvent exchange
- Solvent exchange to dryness and with resuspension in solvent of choice
- Connection for 3 solvents or upgradeable to 6 or 15 solvents
Selection of initial and final volumes
- Sample volumes up to 350 mL can be concentrated in one process. To do this, the sample is aspirated in batches into the evaporator chamber using a vacuum. FREESYLE recognises when the entire sample has reached the EVAporation chamber.
- Freely definable final volume between 5.0 mL and 0.2 mL, which can be set individually for each sample via software-controlled sensors. This means that samples with different final volumes can also be mixed within one sample sequence.
- The result is a precisely filled or aliquoted concentrate, in freely selectable containers (e.g. closed GC vials).
No cross-contamination
- Rinsing of the EVAporation chamber during the process, especially shortly before the selected final volume is reached
- Rinsing of the EVAporation chamber and all parts that have come into contact with the sample once the process is complete
Effective rinsing of the EVAporation chamber
With the double-walled needle from the FREESTYLE system, the analytes are rinsed down from the walls of the EVAporation chamber with a solvent of choice, while the EVAporation chamber rotates so that no analytes remain on the glass walls.
This increases the precision and repeatability of your results enormously.
Intuitive software
The EVAporation chamber is calibrated automatically with the simple click of a mouse in the software. This is particularly appreciated by certified laboratories:
- EVAporation method setup: Process steps can be added easily with a mouse click. Values are set by sliding bars
- Combination of SPE and EVAporation method in what is known as a “FLEX” method. This can also be saved and easily retrieved again later
